Nickle Dickle Day: A Time-Honored Tradition
One of the most anticipated events is Nickle Dickle Day, held annually on the second Saturday after Labor Day. This festival transforms City Square Park into a bustling hub of activity, featuring an arts and crafts fair, car and truck show, live music, and various family-friendly activities. Originating in 1961 as a sidewalk sale, Nickle Dickle Day has evolved into a celebration that attracts thousands, emphasizing the importance of supporting local businesses and artisans.
Christkindlmarkt: A German Christmas Experience
As the holiday season approaches, Waconia embraces its German heritage with the Christkindlmarkt. Inspired by traditional German open-air Christmas markets, this event offers authentic foods, decorations, gifts, and entertainment for all ages. It’s a cherished tradition that brings the community together to celebrate the festive season in a unique and culturally rich manner.

From arts and crafts sessions to weekly bingo and board games, these offerings create a welcoming environment where seniors can connect, share experiences, and continue to contribute to the community’s vibrant social fabric.
